In the controller, right below MENU, there's a two ended slider. Drag the ends Left/Right to create a range. See Attached screenshot.

How to lower Exp. pedal's volume of stock FCB1010?

Rosen Canev

Dear community,

I'd like to lower Exp. pedal parameters ( pedal B) of my stock chip FCB1010. From Guitar Rig 5's controller menu I choose PRESET VOLUME but there I can see only 5 options: Volume, Dry Volume, Wet Volume, Mix, Pre Rack Mixing. I know that pedal's range is 0 -127 but when playing a song I'd like to increase volume a little bit, for example from 30 - 100.  Can I do this through Guitar Rig's controller menu, or there is another way?

OK, first, I apologize for steering you to the wrong Editor. The one I asked you to install doesn't run on MAC, and I forgot that you were using a MAC.
Unfortunately, I have the UNO chip in my FCB. The Editor you installed is not compatible with UNO.
So, while the sysex I sent should work with your editor, I can't step by step you through this, but I'll try.
There is an editor that runs on both our machines, but it's not free.
Let's see what we can do before I make you spend the $20 that the hands down best FCB editor would cost.

The following instructions are based on what I can see of your THU MIDI configuration in your video. See attached THU screenshot.

First, open THU. Manually select preset. 1. EDIT: Now press pedal 10. Did the preset change?
IF YES THEN
Try LEARN on one of the effects in the preset using pedal 1. Did it work?
IF NO THEN
           Close THU.
Open your Editor. Select Options>MIDI Devices. Make sure that the UM is selected for I/O.
Close the dialog. Select MIDI>Receive and do whatever that editor requires to receive the contents of your FCB.
Select VIEW>Banks. It should look like the attached Editor screenshot.
     IF NO THEN
You did not successfully load the sysex to your FCB.
Are you using two cables?
Is the FCB OUT port connected to the Interface IN port?
AND vice versa for the other cable.
Turn OFF the FCB. Restart while holding the DOWN pedal. When the green led in GLOBAL CONFIGURATION>DIRECT SELECT lights, press the UP pedal twice so that the CONFIG led is lit. Press pedal 7 so that it's led lights. press and hold the DOWN pedal until the display returns to 00.
Open your editor, open the sysex, select MIDI>SEND. The display should turn off, then return to 00.
Select VIEW>MIDI>Input Messages. This is your MIDI Monitor. Test the pedals. Do they send the messages as I described above?

IF NO then get back to me and we'll talk some more.
It may be that in order for us to be on the same page you'll need to get the UNO_ControlCenter Editor that I mentioned.

I provided that info FYI, I should have been clear about that - If you attempt to DL a sysex to the stock chip and it times out, you now know why and what to do.
If you're serious about playing through amp sims you'll probably end up with UNO, and the version info is good to know.

Sorry I don\t have UNO. I have the original FCB 1010, v.2.50

Re: How to program Guitar Rig 5 with FCB/UnO editor ? #wanted

You should read the ControlCenter manual. See the two folder icons below the big round CONNECT icon? Once you have a working sysex (test with the Virtual FCB and the left side monitor available by clicking Global Setting a couple times), you use one of those Folder icons to DOWNLOAD the sysex to the FCB. Then you use the OTHER one to upload the modified (hopefully) contents of the FCB for verification. You can also verify by using the right side monitor (click the little connect icon so it turns RED). That monitor shows what happens when you operate a pedal on the REAL FCB.

Depending on what version of UNO you have (pre 1.04, maybe pre 1.03), you may have to manually activate sysex download on the FCB itself. This only needs to be done once, unless you do a factory reset.

In Reaper and most other DAWs, you first create a MIDI track with the (FCB's interface) as it's source. You then SEND the output of that track to the track containing your VST.

Thanks a lot ! Great explanations!

I did it in standalone version of Guitar Rig 5, but how to do the same in VST in DAW? I am using Reaper.

By the way,  I  successfully connected FCB/Uno control center editor to my midi foot controller, but when start changing some parameters by my mouse, it doesn't affect the foot controller.

BRILLIANT! :-)

I have one. Only thing is all I have to do is turn around and push the tuner button on the amp to access the tuner.

Thanks for replying. I am a retired A&P aircraft mechanic. My wife was on yahoo when I ask the question years ago and forgot about it. The Behringer manual was not clear on the buttons to push and the order to push them to program the FCB1010. The cyber-twin presets start at 0 so I had to use 128 for the PROG CHG 1, 32 for the CNT1, and 2 for VALUE 1. I used preset 10 as a sacrificial preset. After this I could press #10 and amp would change to "tuner mode" and back when I pressed #10 again.

The pedals came into play with writing a preset for the cyber-twin. You press the 'amp' button on the amp to cycle thru menus, like name change, reverb type, speaker phase 17 in all. Number 15 is expression pedal assignment and 16 is cont. controller assignment. I may not fully understand the workings of this AMP. I may have to get a stand alone pedal for the expression pedal and plug it into the expression pedal port on the back of the amp.  Fender does not talk much about the amp after it was released to the public. I know I am one of the few that use the amp, and with the FCB it is easy to use. I think I was confused about the amp using the pedals on the FCB for cont. controller and expression pedal. Thanks for the input on the subject as you know more than most people. Thanks

I don't use a Cyber Twin. Very few people do.
Nor do I use many of the several dozen other MIDI devices and applications that I regularly assist others in using.
As a former programmer and all-around IT professional I AM very good at reading manuals, which is usually all that it takes.

I can give you a sysex that you can install on your FCB to control your Cyber Twin.
I can teach you how to do it yourself.
I CANNOT read your mind, nor can I do the actual work for you.
You WILL need to answer my questions and follow my directions.
You may also have to read some directions from a manual. I can help you with understanding them, but I WON'T RE-TYPE them here.

You first asked about the tuner 10 years ago.
The answer is to send the Cyber Twin PC#127.
Do you want to be able to do that from EVERY FCB Bank? Or from Pedal 10 in one bank only?
You want to be able to use your left (inside) Expression Pedal for something.
What Cyber Twin parameter, exactly, from the list I provided, would you like to use it for?
Or would you like to be able to control different parameters from different banks?

To create and install the sysex required to use the FCB to control the Cyber Twin, will you be using an Editor such as the FREE Ed Dixon/MtnSys editor located in the Files section of this forum(FCB1010PcEditorInstall.zip):

Or will you be using the Behringer direct on the device method? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you use the Editor!

I will be more than happy to assist you with using your FCB with your Cyber Twin.
Please consider the questions I've just asked because, without the answers you can't be helped, by anyone.

yes that is correct . Do you use a cyber twin se and if so would like a patch to access the tuner with the FCB 1010. My problem is in the making of presets for the cyber twin.

I believe that's what I said, the default is 027.
You need to set it to the CC# of the Cyber Twin function that you want to control.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding.
What is it that you're asking?
