FCB1010 Groups Running Costs 2021-2022

Requested By: Roger Colwell

Description:
This group was created in GIO in October 2019, from Yahoo Groups, due to the impending removal of all the stored information therein, in both main FCB1010 User Groups going back as far as 2002.
Whilst it was payment-free with Yahoo, we needed to purchase a GIO Premium Yearly Plan to transfer most of the repositories from there, and we have continued to purchase a Premium Plan on an annual basis because of the extra features it provides, that we use.
Plan renewals are due every mid-October.
In order to recoup these costs, we ask you kindly donate an affordable, small amount in order to support the continuation of the group -- any donation is welcome -- thank you!
The Payment Platform that's approved and integrated by Groups.io is from Stripe (www.stripe.com) -- please be assured this is a totally secure and trusted service which you are encouraged to check out by clicking the link given, if you have any concerns. Unfortunately, other Payment Platforms like PayPal, for example, are not supported or possible to be integrated by us, presently, at Groups.io.
To conclude this request, please note that there is no intention to accumulate funds and, should this income significantly exceed our annual expenditure, we will turn off/on this donation request when prudent to do so. Thank you again for your support!

Re: Toggle Arm button On and Off in Ableton

Thanks!

Instead of using CC I used the Note_Onn/Off option from the script (The TinyBox script editor gives suggestions as to which method to use and is really helpfull in programming the TinyBox) and it works fine. Just like using an 'ordinairy' key from a midi keyboard to switch things on and off in Ableton.

I will try EJ SHeldons method, just to try if it will work too!

I've used MIDI to control the ARM buttons for a long time on my UnO 1 FCB, and it works fine.  If you're using a Note message, Ableton will ignore the Note Off (Velocity zero), because if it didn't, using a keyboard key to control it would be impossible - it would just toggle off when you press the note, and back on again when you release it (or vice-versa).  However, it won't toggle by itself when you send two identical CC messages.  You have to do as EJ Sheldon describes and send a 127 to turn on, and a 0 to turn off.

IDK how the Tinybox code looks, but for UNO2 this works:

EFFECT_ON Stomp5 = SendMidi DEVICE CtrlChange 115 127
EFFECT_OFF Stomp5 = SendMidi DEVICE CtrlChange 115 0

Of course, you can use any CC# you like. This is just how my FCB happens to be set up currently.

Toggle Arm button On and Off in Ableton

4texsound@...

Hi,

This is my first question, so I am completely new to programming the Tiny Box.

I thought I'd make an easy start by trying to make the simpelst script for Ableton. Just 8 some (4) switches to toggle the Arm button on and off in Ableton.

To make it do one thing works fine with the TRIGGER or the EFFECTS and using a ControlChange but to switch the Arm button on (or off) again does not work.

Anybody familiar with this?

Thank you so much!

Re: bin file for uno?

chrisw_63

I don't believe you can.  Selling the BIN file would lead to pirating for sure.  You can buy the pre-programmed EPROM from Ossandust at https://www.fcb1010.eu/.

This is really my point

I don't want to pay pirates
Who is the copyright holder ?
If i must purchase it then knowing that the reward goes to the hard work is fine by me .
I have all the smarts so my question is still . Where can i get/buy  the BIN file ?

One might consider avoiding purchasing to be financial gain?

Decent people know the difference between right and wrong.
We don't need no stinking governments and lawyers to define it for us.
The Marines were originally created to deal with pirates.
We need to create a Cyber-Marine Corps and send them to eBay!

HAH! My rant for the day!

Covers just about everybody.  Of course, that's assuming the law enforcement bodies of whatever nation actually do more than give lip service to such things.  And we all know at least a couple that don't.

Oh.. I was under the impression that the uno was "open source" ...Im sure that many of the ebay sellers dont comply.

Sorry for my misunderstanding

That's great, but why are you replying to Charles Fox's thread as if you were the Original Poster?

This would be a violation of copyright.  Please just buy the chip.

bin file for uno?

lindsay mannix

Hi all ,
Long time lurker here , really helpfull stuff!

I have all the goods to program/uv-erase  but a can't seem to find  the bin file other than lots of references to the old yahoo group.
and ebay sales for a programmed chip.

I did find version 1.07 on another site but that is old .
Where can I get the current UNO bin file from these days ?

I have searched but i do apologize in advance if my efforts were sub optimal.

I am also tackling the issue with Ableton 11 using python 3 rather than 2.
Has anybody been able to convert successfully using 2to3 ?
Thanks in advance
Lindsay

Thanks for your reply.
Please note no USB connections are involved.
The 1010 and  Rocktron are connected by a MIDI lead.
This works fine with an FC 200, I just want the expression pedals on the 1010 to do the same.

No, you WERE asking the correct question.
NOW you're asking the wrong question.
FIRST you need to be able to program the FCB/UNO to do what you want, WHATEVER that is.
Start by answering the questions I asked.
THEN we can help you with your problem.

Hey, solved my own problem. I switched the Control Center setting in "preferences" from one large sysex to multiple small sysex messages.
