CME U2MIDI with UnO2?
#UnO2
Yep, that does suck, sorry. No way I know to get around it, but the shipping would probably drive the cost up the same as the other good ones you can get without international shipping.

CME U2MIDI with UnO2?

The second batch of CME's new MIDI DIN to USB cable, the U2MIDI, just went on sale, and I jumped on it (Normally $20, use code WM30 to get it for $14!!). Anyone lucky enough to get one from the first

Uno2 - How to disable MIDI Merge (thru)
It wouldn't be too hard to put a switch inline in the MIDI cable to effectively turn it off. Not ideal, but a little better than having to disconnect and reconnect. DIY'ing a cable makes it easier to

How to send MIDI Start (FA)
If you're just using the UnO (not 2) firmware, I don't believe you can. Start is a MIDI System Message, and no equivalent CC message exists. If you're using UnO2, the command is: SendRealtime MIDIStar

If it's a 7-pin DIN, that's pretty much a standard, but there are other similar connectors that use the term 7-pin DIN just to get search results, so YMMV, be careful what you get. The one conversion

While the TinyBox is a bit more versatile, you don't lose much by just getting the UnO2 firmware - at almost 1/10th the price. If you'll always have a computer connected, and time isn't a factor, you

If you read Jack's answer, you'll see why. It's Windows' fault. Windows classifies USB MIDI devices as HIDs (Human Interface Devices), so it gives them the same 'security' protection as a keyboard, an

Ergh.. Minor point on programming stuff I should have mentioned earlier: Always consider every value a variable could have, even if your code would 'never' *** assign those values. Here's what I mean:

Hmm... it would seem that the compiler doesn't consider the commands inside the conditionals. The easy solution is to move one or more of them outside the conditionals. Since the PC command is common

First, of course, you gotta learn MIDI. Sorry, but even a cursory understanding put you ahead of most new MIDI users. There are many MIDI intro videos on the web, but they all (IMO) suffer from info d

Newbie question Uno Chip and Uno2 Firmware (Off Topic)
Looked at videos for both Cantabile and GigPerformer. Cantibile's video was quite ancient, but looked decent, if a bit... busy, with setup being a bit involved. GigPerformer just flows. I got it right

Nice coincidence.. Just found out about VST Live yesterday, after seeing a reference to it on Reddit. It's quite obviously Steinberg's answer to Mainstage, only very clunky and (IMO) overly complex. W
