tried it on my amd pc and my intel pc. have uno 1.4 installed into fcb1010. using ripwerx java. midisportr uno usb.. connected properly to in and out of fcb. when i run ripwerx and seletct midi ports correctly adn then try a get firware, all i get is RECEIVER TIME OUT

Don't use Ripwerx. Spend the $25 and get UNO_ControlCenter.

I downloaded the FCB/UnO Control Center "demo" to try and it also will not connect. I have Midisport UNO and when usign RIPWERX if I open the MIDI VIEW window I can see all of the midi data flying around. I have also used this midisport uno to connect to my gmajor2 for editing and it is fine. i must be doing somethign wrong with the FCB1010 uno chipped device. I have followed all instructions to make it "ready" several times... i cannot get even the control center to connect to it.

using MIDI-OX as well and choosing the midisprot uno in and out, i am seeing all activity of everythign in and out of the fcb1010... so the fcb1010 is working and the midisport uno is working. but niether ripwerx nor the control center can connect to it. i did the pedal 7 enable sysex, for sure.. very odd here.

Are you running ANY other MIDI software at the same time? Windows will not let two applications connect to the same MIDI device - your MidiSport, in this case - at the same time. Just shutting one of them down won't make the port available, either, if the second application was already running. You have to shut one down entirely, then start the other one. It's a P.I.T.A., for sure. And if this is the issue for you, PLEASE send a nastygram to Microsoft complaining about it. (Just kidding about the nasty part, but please do let them know. The more complaints they get, the more likely they'll stop including MIDI in the group of HID devices that need that kind of security.)

zero other midi apps are running.. this is coming into windows10 from a completely fresh boot. the ONLY apps running when I try would be ripwerx java.... or the demo version of uno control center.
midi-ix reports that all midi in and out is fine, i can engage anything on the fcb1010 and it lights up my midisport uno like a christmas tree adn I see pc and cc flying all over the place. so this tells me the FCB midi is fine.. the midisport uno is fine... the issue is in the ripwerx and in the control center.
im realy stumped and considering just going back to the factory effing firmware and instead of doing stomp box mode just having different presets made in the gmajor2 that have those effects on or off....

I'm not at all surprised that Ripwerx won't accept sysex. Sysex files are longer than the regular MIDI messages that you can see in the Ripwerx VIEW window and Ripwerx just doesn't like the MIDI Sport. I have two physically identical cable type interfaces (treble clef branded) and only one worked with Ripwerx, and then that one didn't work either (MS update?).
I AM surprised that ControlCenter won't connect. When you say that ControlCenter won't connect, do you mean that you can't set up the ports and you can't see activity in the MIDI IN Monitor, or that you can't SEND a sysex to the FCB? If the latter then the reason is because you're running the DEMO. You have to BUY it for that to work.
In control center I can select my midisport in and out but when I try to connect to the FCB it's a no go.
Again, what exactly do you mean "can't connect". Can you see MIDI messages being received in the MIDI IN Monitor window?
No. The editor software will not actually connect to the FCB. There is a button in the software that makes it connect. The FCB never actually connects. A green strip animation runs at bottom left and then times out.

According to the interface db (ss attached) your midisport should work. Can you attach a ss of the Control Center screen?
Out of curiosity, go here:
Go to the PURCHASE page and select UNO2 v1.4. Go to the bottom of the page, set the ports and select TEST.
If it passes the test there's no reason it won't work with the regular UNO chip.
@ossandust - chime in if I'm wrong about that?
the test on that page does not work. i just bought the midisport uno, it is brand new and i bought it purely to use with the editor becuase it was an inexpensive and what should be compatible device. seems it is not compatible???? i am running a windows 10 PC with an AMD CPU. the midisport uno works just fine with midi-ox and works just fine with teh tc electronic editor for my g major 2. it simply does not want to work with anything having to do with the fcb1010.
A timeout occurred. Please check the MIDI connections and MIDI port selections, and try again.
I even tried it on a different system, my laptop wiht an intel chip. same timeout error.... maybe i have to use an older version of the driver? this midisport uno is brand new just got it yesterday, using latest drvier from maudio.. this is baffling.
The reason I asked for the ss is that on my system the activity indicator is blue and on the bottom right. I'm wondering if you DL'd the wrong demo?
green bar bottom right ERROR trust me... I am doing all of the right steps and have it all connected right. the midisport uno works with EVERYTHIGN BUT the FCB software.. ripwerx no. contol center no. web page test link you gave. no.
OK, you have the newest version, I'm way back on v1.0.7 because I now have the UNO2 chip and only use this editor to help people make configuration files. It's possible that the latest version no longer works with the MIDISport. Maybe try the older driver? Hopefully Ossandust will chime in on this.

Thanks for helping. I may just go back to stock FCB and skip this whole uno business.... Or maybe consider a newer floor fx unit that would also transmit midi cc to my Marshall head...
It's worthwhile if you can get it working, and it will send CC to your Marshall, though if you have the 4 channel version you'd need to use regular presets if you want to get access to all 12 variations.
Do you have an AI with MIDI? If so, try that. The MIDI implementation in most AIs will usually work.
Also, the UNO chip works in stock mode, and the manual tells you how to do that manually. But if you want to use one of the FREE editors you would need to swap back to the stock chip.
