Export and Import

Half venting here, and half asking for help...
I had been happily using ControlCentre V1 to program my UnO1s, but recently purchased two UnO2s and successfully created a config for one of my rigs. My other FCB had been working fine min its rig, but I wanted to extend its capability (tipswitch, etc). I read somewhere that I could export my other FCB's UnO1 config to UnO2 format using ControlCentre v2.x, so bought a license for it, and was successful in exporting in UnO2 format, with the intent of importing that into UnO2ControlCentre to facilitate the changes I wanted to make.. Unfortunately, when I open UnO2ControlCentre, there's no option to import that exported UnO2 file. If I use "open" instead, it will not let me browse my filesystem to select it, just uses its own folder. So, I thought maybe I'd just drop that exported file into whatever folder UnO2ControlCentre wants to use, but when I look for the other configs I created by name, Spotlight can't find it. I've looked in the usual places: within the app package itself, and ~/Library/Application Support/UnO2ControlCentre/. No luck. The files ControlCentre2 creates appear to be hidden somewhere outside the regular filesystem. Maybe somebody can tell me how this is done, or where that folder is located? I've tried to export in txt format, and that will import into UnO2ControlCentre, but it's completely unusable as a basis for a UnO2 configuration. I feel like I wasted money buying the license for UnO1 V2 programming software I never needed, and probably won't use after tonight. |

In Windows you can use Ctrl-C Ctrl-V to copy-and-paste a text from one application to another. I guess on Mac it is Cmd-C Cmd-V. That's why I thought an import/export was not useful, using the keyboard shortcuts is much faster.
However this question did return every now and then, therefore I added an "Import from text file" and "Export to text file" to UnO2ControlCenter. Maybe you are not using the latest version. Or maybe this was not added to the Mac version, I don't know by heart. |

Thanks. I actually did figure it out on my own. I didn’t realize the UnO2-formatted export was readable in a text editor, but when I tried, there it was! :) So I just copied and pasted. Unfortunately, the message board takes a while to show new messages, so when I did figure it out, I couodn’t post a follow-up. On Dec 20, 2022, at 5:27 AM, ossandust <ossan.dust@...> wrote:
