Uno FBC 1010 EXP Pedal MIDI

Just installed a new UNO Chip in my FBC 1010 controller and I am still not seeing any activity on the EXP Pedal in the UNO Control Center. I also bought the EUREKA Prom and the EXP Pedals work fine with it so I know it is not the hardware.
I have attached an image of the Preset List so you can see what my current config looks like. Each SB is configured to use the EXP Pedal so when I am in the UNO Control Center I should see activity in the MIDI Monitor when I move the EXP Pedal, this is not happening. I do have an older FBC, but as I pointed out it works fine with EUREKA, unfortunately EUREKA does not support my software. Please advise.

Apart from Stomp 5, your configuration looks fine.
Are you aware that the Expression pedals won't function until you activate them by pressing a Stomp or Preset button in which they are configured? That's all I can think of. |

Yes I am aware that you need to have the Expression Pedal configured. Do you have the Uno Control Center installed on your PC? If so when you select a preset configured to use the EXP Pedal and launch the MIDI Monitor do you see a stream from the Pedal when you Rock it back and forward?
I have attached a screen shot of my UNO Control Center, I enabled both SB 1 and 2 and was moving both EXP pedal, as you can see there is no output from the EXP pedal in the MIDI Monitor, but you can see it did recorded the SB activity, is this normal?

Also, you may need to re-initialize memory after you install the Uno Chip. The procedure should be called out in the documentation but it has been a while since I did this.

It looks like you have Exp A set to 2 different CC#s (100 & 116 –
column under ExprA) on spreadsheet. These numbers were assigned during FCB
global setup and will remain the same in each
FCB preset. It’s in the preset programing that you decide what to do with
them. One of the CC numbers (100 or 116) will probably work, but only one. Exp B
appears to be assigned to CC# 117
and should be OK. Remember to set the receiving eqp (from FCB) to respond
to the CC#s you have chosen in FCB global setup.

Assuming that you re-initialized memory per jack's post.
With the exception of Stomp 5, which would deactivate pedal B, all of your Stomps and presets should activate the exp pedals to work with whatever CC#s you've assigned - being able to use different cc#s per preset is the whole point of assigning them that way. Your screenshot shows that you've pressed Stomp 1, then Stomp 2, and I'm assuming that you rocked the exp pedals between presses, thus showing that the exp pedals aren't working? In that case, I have no clue why you're not getting signal from the exp pedals, you've done everything right. Maybe you got a bad chip? Did you get it from the official source, or from a pirate on ebay? If the former, then contact support. If the latter, good luck! |

I bought both my Uno chips directly from the website, and it took several weeks for me to get them. The eureka eprom works just fine I can see the control Data coming through from each of the expression pedals which tells me the hardware is not at fault. This
is the second you know chip that I've purchased and still no joy. Is this the official support site for the Uno chip? if it is can I get some one who understands this issue to assist? I have attached photos of the packaging and my old blue no chip for proof
of purchase. But if this this is the official support site you should be able to validate my purchase through other means, I also purchased the Uno control center software. I really would like to get this thing working already. This seems to be a fairly straightforward
question. Is there anyone who can assist?

Your screenshot shows that you've pressed Stomp 1, then Stomp 2, and I'm assuming that you rocked the exp pedals between presses, thus showing that the exp pedals aren't working?
In that case, I have no clue why you're not getting signal from the exp pedals, you've done everything right.
Maybe you got a bad chip? Did you get it from the official source, or from a pirate on ebay? If the former, then contact support. If the latter, good luck!

You are NOT on the official UNO site.
THIS: is the OFFICIAL UNO site. If this is where you bought your chip(s), then emailing them about your problem would be your best bet. Before you do, be sure that: 1) you installed and initialized the chip(s) per the instructions in the manual. 2) the currently installed chip has no bent pins. 3) you were protected from electrostatic discharge when you installed it. 4) the wiring from the exp pedals hasn't come loose between the chip that works and the one that doesn't You're probably aware of all of the above, just sayin'...... |

Upon reviewing the Uno Control Center Manual, it clearly states that in simulation mode you should be able to replicate the actual MIDI Simulation. In the screen shot attached you can clearly see that the simulated output is correct, I select the SB and move the EXP A or B “icon “ and I can see the values change, however in the MIDI Monitor I can see only the CC from the SB and no output from the FBC Controller EXP pedal. What’s up with that?

The simulation is just that - a simulation of what the FCB/UNO SHOULD do IF the configuration file/settings loaded IN THE EDITOR is successfully downloaded to the physical FCB/UNO.
I have one last suggestion. Do a Factory reset on the FCB/UNO (reboot while holding down 1+6 - release when the countdown starts). This will sometimes cure unexplained flakiness, like the problem you're having. Upload the FCB/UNO to ControlCenter. If the reset is successful it should look like the attached screenshot. Now load your config file into the editor and download it to the FCB/UNO. When the download completes, upload the FCB/UNO to ControlCenter again. If the download was successful it should look like you expect it to. Now test it in the monitor. If it still doesn't work, it has to be a hardware problem. If, after all that, you go back to the Eureka chip and the expression pedals work, then it has to be the UNO chip. |

I realize it is a simulation, however the simulation gives you an opportunity to see if your logic is working as you expect before you down load it onto the FBC1010. That said there is no reason that I should not see output in the MIDI monitor, and it makes no senses to try to troubleshoot issues with hardware/software if there is no output in the MIDI monitor. I have to assume if my Volume pedal is turning on and off in my software (BIAS FX) but I can’t get it to produce real time CC for the effect then it must be the firmware because that is in fact what I am seeing in the UNO Control Center.
I did everything you suggested several times, no Joy and the fact that I have 2 Uno chips and they are both doing the same thing suggests my FBC may not compatible with the 1.0.4 Version. It was made in 2013. The EUREKA Prom does not work with BIAS FX Thanks for the input, I will reach out to UNO Support.

That statement makes no sense whatsoever. You're only going to see output in the Midi Monitor if the hardware and software is working. If the HW and/or SW is NOT working, there will be no output in the Midi monitor, and that means you need to troubleshoot the HW/SW. The UNO chip is part of the hardware, and it's where the configuration is stored. The screenshot of the Midi Monitor that you sent me showed that the STOMP buttons were working, but you were getting NOTHING from the Exp Pedals. How, then, could the Exp Pedals be turning ON/OFF anything in BIAS FX? BIAS FX has two CC settings for the Volume Pedal. One turns it ON/OFF (the CC# assigned, no specific value required) labeled "TOGGLE", the other controls the Range (CC# plus values between 0-127) labeled "VOLUME". If you learn the TOGGLE value using the expression pedal, you'll see the icon for the volume pedal flashing on/off as it jumps in and out of the signal path. That's because each time the expression pedal sends a new value it also sends the CC#, which, since BIAS doesn't use values for toggling functions, causes the effect to constantly toggle on/off as the exp pedal is moved. What I'm saying is that if the volume pedal in BIASFX is simply toggling, you're using a STOMP to do it, NOT the FCB Exp Pedal. You use the FCB Exp Pedal to learn the VOLUME setting.. Thanks for clarifying the process in BIAS FX Desktop, I am using BIAS FX Mobile on IOS, completely different beast, it does not allow you to specify “Toggle CC” vs “Volume CC”. This is obviously by design Positive Grid has made this APP proprietary so you need there footboard controller. Spent hours researching this, bummer.

I bought my FCB in 2011, used. The age of your FCB is not the problem. I'm still using UNO v1.0.2f, which I installed right after I got the FCB. Changes since that version are minor and not related to your problem.

Which is what confuses me, as your screenshot showed the FCB sending Stomp messages, but not Expression pedal messages. "Positive Grid has made this APP proprietary so you need there footboard controller. Spent hours researching this, bummer." Positive Grid products have been an EPIC FAIL where midi is concerned. Their revenue model has been predatory from the beginning. BIAS AMP, BIAS AMP PRO, BIAS FX, BIAS FX PRO, all those iOS products that sound like crap but got RAVE reviews***. Instead of perfecting and consolidating their SW products, they took that revenue and invested it in hardware products. Early on they had a forum. Their products were so bad that the forum was filled with screaming mad customers. They shut down the forum for like 2 years. They've recently restarted it, but the last time I was there it was pretty much deserted. I REALLY dislike that company. *** Sorry if you like them, I use most every major guitar sim product, their iOS products are the worst IMO. |

It was an idea, I thought having the software on an independent hardware platform would be better than buying floorboard emulators that cost a fortune, can be stolen, can fall off a truck and be torn to bits, and you married to the company if anything ever
goes wrong with it. I've had my fair share of line 6 products that have all failed or falling short. The idea of having an app on an iPad but I could just reinstall on another iPad if I needed to would work well if the sounds were usable. I find that if I
