UnO Stomp Box programming

jb65@...

Hi all,
I just got an FCB1010 and uno 1.0.4 chip and I'm trying to get them set up for stomp box mode.  I installed the chip and went through an UnO initialization procedure I found, and it seemed to go as planned.  I am able to send the PC commands that were programmed into the FCB from the factory.
My MIDI interface is a Behringer UMC204HD and I'm using it with Amplitube4.

However so far no success programming it.  I'm trying to use the FCB1010 MIDI Editor program.  It's able to receive Sysex, but it lists the Firmware as "UnO- Unknown version," and the UnO-specific items like Stomp Box and the NC control for the expression pedals are grayed out or not present.

I also tried FCB/UNO Control Center, but it tells me “no FCB1010 connected.”

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jerry

The free software editors are not compatible with UNO chips above v1.0.2.
You want the UNO_ControlCenter Editor.

https://www.fcb1010.uno/

It's written and supported by the creator of the UNO Chip.

Attached is a sysex in ControlCenter format that you can use to control Amplitube.
Any questions about using it, feel free to contact me.

Good to know.  And thanks for the SysEx!  I tried the eval version of controlCenter though, and it wouldn't recognize the FCB.  I contacted the developer but the guy who answered my email had no idea what to even try.

I can almost guarantee that the MIDI Interface you're using is not sysex compatible. What Interface is it?

Behringer UMC204HD.  It did manage to receive the Sysex with the MIDI Editor program

I kept fooling with control Center, and after I (randomly) clicked the icon in that looks like a midi connector, it now recognizes the UnO and receives the SysEx.  I'll get that software and try it out.  Thanks so much for your help!

You've been bitten by the "Shoulda read the manual" bug.
I'm surprised that the support person didn't catch that, it's probably the most common beginner error, as clicking on that icon is NOT intuitive!
Load up the file I sent (you have to pay for the license and register it before you can transmit the sysex) and let me know if you've any problems figuring out how to use it with Amplitube. There's a couple of special commands that I put in the top bank since they're not essential.

Sounds like the FCB/UNO Control Center is not connecting to the FCB1010.  Make sure you select the correct midi port - If you using a USB to MIDI adapter to connect the FCB to the computer for programming, make sure you select that port.  I think midi symbol will turn color (red?) on the UNO control center when connected.

These days, I pretty much expect no manual necessary, but that's for big-company software.  I noticed my Paypal for the software went to the same name as the support person, so maybe it's a one-man operation?  This does look a lot simpler than the freeware - $22 well spent I think.  I'll give it a whirl.  And thanks for the help offer!

speaking of manuals, is there one?  i d/l'ed the demo version (having recently installed the latest uno chip), but see nothing significant under the about menu.

just curious.  if i'm to pay 20-30 bucks, a manual would be more than simply a nice-to-have item.  thats the point of all this after-market, to make the darn rig
usable without days of head-scratching.

never mind!!  found it on the website.  :)

Update:  I've been running it for over a week now, it works great!  The software is very easy once you get used to it.  Worth the price just to be able to program it without touching the unit.  Thanks for the help!
