Yahoo Groups Changes
sliding_billy_hamilton
It's been a pleasure owning this board all these years, but I don't see why Yahoo is even leaving it up for email communication. Thanks to Ossandust for writing the chip code and to Mike R for starting the board with me. Best wishes y'all. |

Thank you, Bill, and everybody else who has been chipping in,
but isn't there a plan B? There were mentioning to moving the site to an alternative platform, no? |
|
the kicker
I don’t get it; why should we change it?
I mean why are we even mentioning another platform?

and a big thanks to you Chris for keeping this group up and running for so many years !

Although I've been contributing to this group for years, I never knew who owned it. I thought it was the same as the FCB1010 group (Roger Colwell). Many of us in that group have been in touch with Roger about combining the two groups on a new platform.
Have you been in touch with Roger about combining the two groups? |
|
sliding_billy_hamilton
Yes, both Ossandust and I are in contact with him. Not sure what the plans are yet for the UnO group.

|
sliding_billy_hamilton
Of course. You know where to find me.

Attention: Starting December 14, 2019 Yahoo Groups will no longer host user created content on its sites. New content can no longer be uploaded after October 28, 2019. Sending/Receiving email functionality is not going away, you can continue to communicate via any email client with your group members. |

the kicker
Nope. Even with the email you sent me I still don't see it. Weird.

I'm here at last; many thanks to Chris (or is that Bill/Billy?) for accepting my membership today! I'm Roger Colwell, the FCB1010 Group Moderator mentioned earlier in this topic. FWIW, I bought my FCB1010 in 2005 and then joined Mike's FCB1010 Group shortly after, as many newbies have done over the last 17 years -- yes, it began in 2002 and what have Behringer ever done to support either of us? Exactly zilch! However, I never progressed very far in getting to grips with a working MIDI setup for guitar and abandoned any ideas of gigging with my FCB1010, therefore I never saw a need to upgrade it and hence, never signed up here. Later on I offered to moderate FCB1010 when the owner and existing moderators were easing away from managing it regularly, and have been ever since. Now, with this debacle caused by Verizon (presumably) dictating massive changes/cuts to Y!G infrastructure, we are forced into taking very swift action to move elsewhere unless we are happy to lose our repositories, message histories etc., then just continue using email communication, i.e. only offline. If we want to keep all/most of our content, it seems the very best solution (of only a few) is to transfer to Groups.io (GIO). FCB1010 wants to do that and I've taking steps to make that happen. The question is, does this group wish to move with its repositories, without them, or stay here? Thanks and regards, Roger Colwell FCB1010_UnO and FCB1010 Group Moderators P.S. I needed to become a moderator here in order to organise such a transfer to GIO, if it is decided that will be the way forward ... |

You got me to thinking about how long we have had this group. January 23, 2006 was the day I created it and Me, Mike and Ossanust all joined that day. I'm sure I got my board far earlier than that. The 2002 start date of the main FCB group is probably close to when I got the board.
It is Chris, BTW. Billy (thus the handle here and most everywhere else) is an old nickname that some baseball friends put on me MANY (early 90s) because I am an 1800s baseball fanatic. Billy Hamilton (not the modern day guy) is one of my favorites. |

Hey Roger, Ossandust, Mike and all. It’s me, Riverdance Slim. I hope you are all well. Haven’t used my FCB in years but I still have it on the shelf downstairs. And I still follow the groups. It would seem an awful waste to let all the valuable info disappear. A move seems to make plenty of sense to me. That’s my two cents. Thanks for your efforts all this time. I vote yes.

I monitor the group and in my early days of
FCB1010 was a regular reader. I have pretty much mastered what I
needed to know, did the chip upgrade etc and now just listen to
others and learn a tip or two about other devices. For a newbie
with the 1010 this forum and its files and downloads are
invaluable. I hope you guys can keep it open for others who come
along.

Same; I bought my fcb followed by uno chip, installed it and placed the pedal in an skb bag that fits it (bought on Amazon) and since then haven't turned it on.
LOL
Just checked my emails bought the UNO chip on Jan 16, 2012 from ossandust (Xavier) for 16 euros.
On a side note I have My digitech GSP 2101 limited edition and been with the group since its inception.
Means they gonna close it too right? Damn
Well please guys try to find us a new "home". Also is there a way to download EVERYTHING that is/was posted since the beginning of uno forum in 1 click?
Tya,
Roger
